The importance of meaning and purpose in life has been well documented. Research has shown that clients often place considerably more weight on existential factors such as the ability to recognize the limitations of life, altruism and taking personal responsibility than on technique and insight as most instrumental to therapeutic change. Logotherapy is an existential approach. As such attitude, personal responsibility and the therapeutic alliance play a central role. In this presentation an illustrative case study will serve to introduce an easily applicable and effective four-part innovative model for helping clients to find meaning and purpose in their life.
