Welcome to my new vlog series “Behind the Scenes” where we look behind the scenes of video creation, in this case behind the scenes of my new “Tirol by Drone” video “Millionenloch”, which will be released soon.

▬ Millionenloch ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The "Millionenloch" (Million Hole) is a unique place (leave me a comment, if you know another such place) between Niederndorf and Ebbs. Even after the regulation of the Inn river (Tirol's big river) in the 19th century the smaller Jennbach and Ebbsbach rivers flooded the areas around Niederndorf and Ebbs. A painting witnesses about the disaster of 1899, where plenty of houses were flooded and a farmhouse totaly destroyed.

The communities Niederndorf and Ebbs started a joint mega project to keep the Jennbach between stone dams, and many artificial waterfalls ("Gumpen") have been established, to calm down the destructive power of the water after heavy rain. The Ebbsbach river, flowing much deeper than the Jennbach, had to be guided through a 3-tunnel system under the Jennbach.

The immense budget of 1 million Gulden (at that time an incredible sum) gave the tunnel system the nick name "Millionenloch" which finally could get the floods under control until these days.

▬ Music ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

A lot of effort was put into music selection, finally our choice fell to the 3rd movement “Storm” (Presto) of Antonio Vivaldi’s famous 4 Seasons' "Summer" concerto, a remarkable master piece.
The dramatic flow of the movement with its 18 different moods is perfect to build-up tension and relax in our vlog scenes.

From the many interpretations of "Storm" in the web, and it took us days to select a proper one for our video. If you like Vivaldi's "storm" you should not miss the following performances:

The version 1) of Anne-Sophie Mutter is surely incredible and stunning to see and listen, but we found that the tempo is much to fast for a proper music background of the different vlog scenes.

So we tried to get a license for our first choice 2) from Voices of Music because of its overwhelming dynamics, perfect to underline our dramatic scenes. Unluckily the license fee of 2000 USD per year was beyond the budget of a channel, which not yet makes money.

So we compromised our music selection and licensed an interpretation (see below) which was already offered in the net for YouTubers, and also met our budget.

For version 3), which is a fantastic audio background for drone videos, we also bought a license, and we will use this interpretation in the announced Tirol by Drone video "Millionenloch" (coming soon).
