Hello, this is Greg from English with Greg, and in today's lesson, I'm going to help you pronounce this word. Now, this is a very common word that we use these days, and it basically means when you have to stay in isolation for 14 days or two weeks to avoid the spread of disease. So the pronunciation of this word is /kwɒ/ /kwɒ/ with the sound that we find in the word hot and top. /kwɒ/... /rən/ /rən/ with the schwa sound in the middle /ə/... /tiːn/ like 13, 14, 15. So Quarantine (kwɒrəntiːn) And we put the stress on the first syllable of this word. Quarantine, quarantine. Now, one common mistake is with the 'A' that many students pronounce like an A. It's not, it's pronounced like an O: /kwɒ/ And this is true for many other words, which begin QUA: quadruple, squad, quality and quantity, quantity. So that's the important part to pronounce this word correctly. The pronunciation is quarantine. Let me know in the comments which word. you want me to help you pronounce.
