🌾 Field Note — The Field That Waits 🌾
The field did not begin in silence.
It began in the restless steps I carried into it.

I thought I had come to escape the noise,
but the field was not an escape.
It was a mirror—of every thought, every rushing breath,
every door I tried to force open before its time.

So it waited.

The twin suns sank low,
their light laying long across the grass,
and in their stillness I began to see:
not all doors open by pushing.
Some open by waiting with them.

The seedheads bent and rose as though breathing for me.
My ribs found their rhythm.
My pulse stopped reaching forward and began listening instead.

And when I was quiet enough,
the field did not speak—
it remembered me.
Whole.
As though nothing had ever been missing.

Not all stillness is an ending.
Some is a holding.
Some is a beginning waiting to be gentle enough.
