Even before World War II, Kazimiera dedicated herself to feeding and caring for the pigeons of Warsaw’s Old Town. Despite the hardships of war and the destruction of the city, she remained devoted to her feathered friends, spending her pension on food for them while relying on charity for herself.

Her bond with the birds was so strong that when she was forced to move during the post-war reconstruction, the pigeons followed her to her new home. To honor her memory, a stone relief of pigeons was placed above the entrance of her former house at 6 Piwna Street.
