Mernda Town Centre, opened December 2022, an original design by @NHArchitecture, TRG The Retail Group in collaboration with George Rydell Constructions worked closely with the clients and consultants to deliver a high quality new retail development for Mernda.
Located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne the project targeted a 4-Star Greenstar V1.2 rating with the Green Building Council of Australia.
The works involved the design, documentation, and construction of a 12,000m2 building comprising a new Woolworths Supermarkets and BWS Liquor, 3 mini-majors and 27 retail tenancies, kiosks and Level 1 office space.
A feature of the building is the generous north-south internal mall featuring a vaulted ceiling with roof glazing providing a light filled open space.
The retail centre is served by a large at grade car park to the west, with shade sails, covered walkway and the inclusion of a Woolworths Supermarkets ‘direct to boot’ under cover drive thru.
TRG The Retail Group’s design team worked closely with the client, to focus on the buildings materials and finishes to ensure regulatory compliance, meet the objectives of the Greenstar targets, whilst being sympathetic to the original design intent.
