Zoom H3-VR: Stereo Recording Formats

Описание к видео Zoom H3-VR: Stereo Recording Formats

Hi, this is John from Zoom, and I’m here to show you how to use the H3-VR to record high quality stereo audio.

The H3-VR’s 360° microphones and advanced binaural and stereo decoding allow you to capture 3-dimensional and immersive sound in a standard stereo format that is easy to edit, process, and share. The Ambisonics microphone array on the H3-VR captures sound from all directions, and then converts this to a variety of formats. The H3-VR has two stereo modes, Binaural and Stereo. You can choose ordinary Stereo, or use the Stereo Binaural format to retain the positioning and realism from the 360 capture.

When recording in Binaural, the H3-VR mimics the way the human ears pick up sound, replicating the way sound is picked up from all sides with spatial characteristics. This gives you a hyper-realistic recording in a stereo file, especially immersive when listened through headphones. Recording music in this format gives the listener the experience of hearing the sound as if they were standing in the room.

Choose the Stereo Format to record a high quality, standard stereo file, perfect for recording music, interviews, conferences and more.

To set the record format on the H3-VR, enter the Menu, then select Record, Record Format, then either Binaural or Stereo.

Alternatively, you can record in one of the Ambisonics record formats, such as Ambisonics A, then use the Zoom Ambisonics Player software to change the orientation of the recording, and export a Stereo or Binaural file. The iOS remote control app allows wireless control of the H3-VR using the BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter.

Once you have recorded your audio, you can easily transfer the files for playback on your computer.
