Find out a little bit about one of our audiologists.


my name is Dr. Thomas Guerrein and the audiologist with the ent Institute

I'm originally from atlanta max your grip and Roswell because no one is from

Atlanta is actually in that lane to the outside of it

I went to Auburn University from undergraduate degree then I got my

doctor in audiology the University of South Alabama

so what got me into audiology while I'm growing up a big music background and

outside a lot of family members had hearing loss so i had to grandparents

that served in world war two and growing up and seeing them have to struggle with

hearing loss and hearing aids in the combination of that and the music just

kind of gravitated me towards audiology

so what I like best about audiology is seeing the faces of people that are

finally able to hear when I haven't been able to hear for a long time you feel

like just the weight coming off of their shoulders that they can kind of take

back their lives

there's one patient had I remember we had just implanted them with a baja

naked hearing aid

she had tried here needs before and wasn't having a lot of lock and so we

figured the best route for her was to do something implantable when we finally turn

the hearing aid on for her and programmed it for her she was the light

of her eyes as she was just so grateful and she can actually hear her

family now and hear the TV she felt she had got her life back

every time I see your since then she's always giving me the biggest hug it has

the biggest smile on her face
