The UCLA Program in Experimental Critical Theory Program and the Department of Design Media Arts present two evenings with French philosopher and playwright Alain Badiou. Professor emeritus and former chair of the Department of Philosophy of the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, he is known for works including Being and Event and Being and Event 2: Logics of Worlds. He is renowned for connecting continental and analytical philosophical traditions, as well as for his reflections on set theory and contemporary mathematics. The Immanence of Truths, the third volume of Being and Event, is forthcoming.
