The USAID funded, MSH led Strengthening TB and HIV & AIDS Responses in Eastern Uganda (STAR-E) Project empowers communities in Eastern Uganda to effectively respond to the challenges of fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic through prevention, treatment, care, support, and mitigation of social impact.

The focus of the STAR-E Project is to:

Strengthen district management of their decentralized health system, including health facility and community level services
Improve the quality of HIV and TB services provided by health facilities
Strengthen the continuum of care of services between health facilities and their served communities, including linkages and referrals to strengthened community networks
Intensify demand generation for HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment services at community level
