D’Addario and Strings By Mail sponsored artists Jack and Elle Davisson perform Astor Piazzolla's Tango No. 2.

Astor Pantaleón Piazzolla was a major Latin American composer of the 20th century. Born in 1921 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, he was a tango composer, a virtuoso bandoneon player (a square-built button accordion), and arranger. His works incorporated elements from jazz and classical music, transforming the traditional tango into a new style called the nuevo tango. He died in 1992 In Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Piazzolla composed the Tango Suite in 1985 for one of the greatest guitar duos in history, Sergio and Odair Assad. Here is the second movement from the Tango Suite taken from our concert at Fried Music in Alhambra, California last year.
