On November 26, 2023, Fairfield Police Officers responded to a single car motor vehicle accident. Officer Sons arrived to find a vehicle that collided with a utility pole. The driver's 9-year-old child, who was not restrained by a seat belt, was severely injured and had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital. The 27-year-old mother admitted to drinking tequila shots earlier in the afternoon. The woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was later placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired. She was transported to the Fairfield Police Station, where she provided a urine sample. The urine sample came back positive for both alcohol and cannabis. She was later indicted on both felony and misdemeanor charges. The outcome of her case is discussed at the end of the video.
