Adidas Basketball officially launched their new adiZero Crazy Light 2 last Wednesday (April 24) during a private media event in Los Angeles, the sequel to the original that dropped a year ago.

The new sneaker was created with both performance and style in mind. It is the lighest shoe in the basketball sneaker category, and weighs in at 9.5 ounces.

With the Crazy Light 2 dropping next month, we caught up with its lead Concept Designer, Robbie Fuller, who discussed some of the shoe's highlights and some behind the scenes revelations.

During our chat with him, he tells us about how the original Crazy Light came to be, and which basketball players sparked the idea by asking for a lighter shoe; what the process is like when making the original design and mock-ups; why Adidas chose such a bright electric color; and his personal favorite colorways.

The adiZero Crazy Light 2 will retail for $140, and be available in five colorways, including the electricity color seen at the McDonald's All American Games, along with a metallic finished black/white/red look and three others. They hit stores (Foot Locker, East Bay, etc.) on May 24th, as well as Adidas.com.
