In the early hours of September 30, 2024, a 32-year-old woman in Umeå, Sweden, returned home from her night shift, unaware of the horror awaiting her. Between 7:08 and 7:09 AM, she sent desperate messages to a friend: "I need immediate help from you," "Now," and "Are you awake?"

Thirty minutes later, she reached out to another acquaintance, pleading for assistance. Tragically, these cries went unanswered in time. Her friend, residing in the same building, discovered the messages hours later. Rushing to the victim's apartment, she peered through the mail slot, witnessing the alleged attacker leaving the scene. Confronted, he confessed to the unthinkable.

The woman had suffered prolonged and brutal violence, leading to her death. The suspect, who had been living with her, Richard Johansson, was sentenced to 18 years in jail for murder.
