► Police officers, dealing with climate change protesters who have brought parts of Central London to a standstill, have swooped in on Oxford Circus and carried half a dozen demonstrators away.

More than 460 Extinction Rebellion activists have been arrested since Monday.

Three people have been charged and remain in custody.

That has not deterred many, and this afternoon they had support from a Hollywood star.
But others have criticised their techniques - and the police tactics and antics have faced criticism too.
