Chelsea & Tony Northrup review the Nikon Zf: A gorgeous retro-styled camera available in many different colors. The Nikon Z f is a full-frame mirrorless camera with 24 megapixels, 4k/30 video (full-width) and 4k/60 video (1.5X crop).

Tony & Chelsea compare The Nikon Zf to the Fujifilm X-T5, Fuji X-Pro3 and Fujifilm X-T4, factoring in sensor size, lens availability, and controls. The Nikon Zf wins for having a bigger full-frame sensor, but the Fuji mirrorless cameras have much better controls and a bigger retro-styled lens selection.

In electronic shutter mode, it takes photos at up to 30 frames per second - amazing! In mechanical shutter mode, it still shoots at an amazing 14 frames per second. However, the autofocus can't keep up. AF performance was one of our biggest complaints. When photographing a person running (such as sports), it got less than half the shots in focus. Even in good light, it frequently missed focusing on still subjects. In good light, it needed the distracting green AF assist light to perform reasonably, and if you turn the light off, it often completely failed to autofocus in low-light conditions.
