The new #Plaits firmware v1.2 from #MutableInstruments is amazing - 8 new oscillator models, which make the sound generation possibilities practically endless. AND... one of the unsung hero features of this new firmware is the OCTAVE MODE for the FREQUENCY knob.
The Frequency knob previously was the TUNING knob. Once you have it tuned, it's easy to mistakenly bump into the knob and knock the module out of tune. But this new feature is the answer to thhis problem and should actually be called LOCKED TUNING MODE!
This mode lets you turn the Frequency knob into an OCTAVE KNOB, and makes it impossible to knock it out of tune when in in this mode. The worst thing that could happen is you change the octave (which is often the best happy mistake in a performance ;). This mode simply changes octaves when the knob is turned rather than re-tuning the Oscillators.
