Hidden on the southern out skirts of the Barrington Tops National park lies Chichester State Forest, Allyn River. This is home to some of NSW most pristine swimming spots and best free camping.

Ladies Well an awesome water hole with small water falls either side is the crown jewel of Chichester State Forest. The crystal clear waters make for the perfect place to have a swim, jump off some rocks or just laze around the river banks.

The water is freezing cold all year round thanks to running out of the Barrington tops. The whole area is filled with bush walks and free camp grounds. Ladies Well is the perfect place for a weekend getaway.

Ladies Well is around an hour north of Maitland in the middle of know where but well worth the drive. It takes you through some quite country towns and picturesque rolling farm land.

Keep an eye out for Boot Hill, a fence covered for hundreds of metres in random shoes.
