One month has passed since Hurricane Helene made landfall, bringing with it powerful winds and heavy rainfall that left a trail of destruction in its wake. As the storm has long since passed, the full extent of the devastation is only now being revealed.

In this video, we take a look at the aftermath of Hurricane Helene at Lake Lure, on the way to Chimney Rock, exploring the impact it had on this community and the environment. From washed out bridges to cars left overturned and crushed, we examine the damage left behind. We also scouted with an aerial drone, the section of the Nolichuchy River near Lost Cove, Burnsville, NC.
