ANNOTATION: A long queue stretched outside St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, as mourners paid their respects to Queen Elizabeth II.

ANNOTATION: Members of the public were viewing the late monarch's coffin after it arrived at the cathedral earlier in the day.

"It's very calm, it's very moving and the crown, the Queen's crown, is sitting on the coffin. It's absolutely beautiful and it just touches your heart."

ANNOTATION: King Charles III and his siblings Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward also stood in silent vigil around their mother's coffin.

"Very sad. We know it's real, but when you see a coffin in there, it comes home. It's very real, very sad. Can't say any more."
