The Beat Goes On with Foggiest Notion

This band is one of our favorites! They have been with us every year. This will be the third year! Each year brings new music and a change in line up. Great music always, fun conversation with now old friends!

Throughout the 90's and early 2000's Eric and Roger would get together play guitars and drink beers. As the music progressed and songs written came more frequent, Eric, being the wordsmith, would write all or nearly all the lyrics. He would also come up with at least the basic chord progression. Then if the song was something the two wanted to do (which most often it was) Roger would write his guitar part and songs were born.

The two of them started playing small gigs and were soon joined by their nephew, Todd Pennington, on drums who is featured on "Fractures In The Glass". At the suggestion of Todd, Roger moved to the Bass, but Roger continued to use open tunings on the the bass as he had on the six string. This lent another dimension to the sound that is Foggiest Notion. Soon after the CD release the band broke up as life got in the way.

Near the end of 2013 Roger and Eric got back to it as Foggiest Notion after each of them had played and gigged with other artists. Early 2014 the two of them met Mark Griffith and it was nearly magic from the first jam session. Although Mark was not featured on "Fractures In The Glass", they began working a new album together. Mark also has two solo albums on CD Baby.

The band continued playing gigs around southern Colorado, and recorded new material for their next album. Foggiest Notion '2016' was released in June with Mark, Eric and Roger. Also in June, Al "Chico" Struck came on board as drummer.

At the end of 2016 Mark was forced to leave due to health issues. The line up remained Eric, Roger, and Chico through June, 2017.

In mid-June, Chico invited guitarist Jerry Mena out to Florence to hear the band perform. Being very impressed with what he heard, that same evening Jerry was invited to participate in Foggiest Notion's next band practice which occurred beginning of July. After a few rehearsals and a gig in Victor, Jerry was invited to join Foggiest Notion before July's end.
