Harakiri For The Sky - Maere (AOP Records)
Austrian melodic black and post-black metal band that has seriously turned heads in the underground scene since their conception in 2011, with their previous release Arson actually reaching #29 in the German music charts. Mӕre is the band's 5th albumKey tracks: I, Pallbearer, Sing For The Damage We’ve Done, Three Empty Words, and Song To Say Goodbye

Suffering Hour - The Cyclic Reckoning (Profound Lore Records)
Blackened death metal power-trio from Forest Lake, Minnesota with a broad range of influences reported from Inquisition and Mgla to The Chasm and Dead Congregation. The band previously made waves with their 2017 debut record In Passing Ascension, subsequently followed by the 2019 EP Dwell.

Abiotic - Ikigai (The Artisan Era)
Back and better than ever, Ikigai finds the band leaning on some classical, progressive, and even eastern style instrumentation in addition to the usual brutality. A stark collision of Rivers of Nihil and The Black Dahlia Murder.

Demon King - The Final Tyranny (The Artisan Era)
Progressive and technical blackened by original Enfold Darkness guitarist Matt Brown, Inferi's Malcolm Pugh on Bass and ex-Inferi, ex-Vital Remains, ex-Enfold Darkness' Jack Blackburn on Drums. FFOR Dissection and Vale Of Pnath. Key tracks: Invoking The Spirit Of Chaos and Transmutation of the Artilect

Sea Sleeper - Nostophobia (Metal Assault Records)
Portland-based extreme progressive metal band with a unique blend of influences ranging from Gorguts and Gojira to Mastodon and Blut Aus Nord. Key tracks: Salt

Basilica -Basilica (Innerstrength Records)
The product of 3 music school majors influenced by the broad likes of Dying Fetus, Power Trip, and Code Orange. Grinding Teeth, Starve, and Everything bring the fury with headbanging crossover thrash riffs while others like Exit Wound and Dispel lay on the more technical and mathcore Car Bomb allusions. Cap it all off with massive breakdowns and some throat shredding guest vocals from The Callous Daoboys' Carson Pace on Chimeric and you've got yourself a record that never sacrifices it's heaviness in the midst of its stylistic diversity.

Emptiness - Vide (Season Of Mist)
Vide is the 6th album from the Belgium-based band and their first in four years. Starting out as a more or less traditional blackened death metal band in the late 90's it wasn't until 2014's Nothing But The Whole that they really started turning heads with a sudden left turn in their sound; one that became only further apparent with 2017's appropriately titled and even more experimental Not For Music. Vide sees the band only veer further away from convention in favor of introspection and deconstruction.

Summoning The Lich - United In Chaos (Prosthetic Records)
The debut full length for the St Louis, Missouri-based melodic death metal band band, taking campy inspirations from various fantasy realms, and presenting them in a style that is pure The Black Dahlia Murder. Key Tracks: Descend, The Nightmare Begins, The Gatekeeper, Acid Reign.

Iotunn - Access All Worlds (Metal Blade Records)
Translating to "Giant," a progressive death metal band that is equal parts Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, and Blind Guardian. Key tracks: Voyage of The Garganey, Laihem's Golden Pits

Serenity In Murder - Reborn.
A melodic death metal band based out of Tokyo, Japan, previously known for 2015's The Highest Of Dystopia and 2017's The Eclipse. Perhaps most akin to groups like Dark Tranquillity and Insomnium, also the first to feature new vocalist Ayumu. Key Tracks: Plead For Your Life, Sea Of Stars, Leaves Burned To Ashes, The Glow Of Embers

Epica - Omega (Nuclear Blast Records)
Dutch symphonic metal band, originally formed in 2002. This new effort represents the final part of the metaphysical trilogy initially begun with 2014's The Quantum Enigma. An album of unity, friendship, and the close bond the members share. Key Tracks: Abyss Of Time-Countdown To Singularity, Rivers, The Skeleton Key
