Solo Build Challenge - 20' Geodesic Dome - PART 2 (I've Never Done This!)

With permits in hand, I completed the skeleton frame and installed a durable door frame along with an exterior pre-hung door measuring 36"x82". The crowning achievement was masterfully maneuvering the PVC cover over the dome using my trusty truck.

Employing a rope, a basketball and my truck in such a creative manner provided both a practical solution and a bit of entertainment. With a large panoramic viewing window and a skylight, flooding our new space with natural light - walking inside the dome was a magical moment. It was at this moment the dream started to come together to have a lovely outdoor space. YES, the PANO- WINDOW can UNZIP, and be completely, easily bringing the outside in, and inside out.. to make it more enjoyable.

Still, the adventure continues as I need to install insulation, flooring, windows, a stove vent and an oxford curtain interior to create a cozy and aesthetically pleasing environment. Despite the common belief that building a dome is a team effort, I’ve shown that with creativity and sheer determination, monumental tasks can be conquered solo. This dome stands not just as a structure, but as a testament to what one person can accomplish against the odds
