Metro is delighted to present 'Consequence', an exhibition of recent paintings by Melbourne-based artist Tom Gerrard.

'Consequence' features over 25 works, and signifies a remarkable shift from Tom's earlier bodies of work. Well-known for his hypo-masculine, balding subjects that are dispersed across Melbourne's urban landscapes, these faces remain present within Tom's recent body of work. However, it is the artist's ode to suburbia which differentiates this exhibition from his earlier work.

The ubiquitous faces that have long lined urban laneways, are now interspersed by the everyday objects, architecture, and landscapes that encapsulate suburban life. Combining vibrant colours and subtle gradients, clean lines and visible mark-making, Tom's latest body of work is playful, honest, and raw. It is an exhibition not to be missed.
