In today’s video, I will show you how to use Karuta in 3 ways in your class..
Karuta is a traditional game in Japan. All students in Japan know how to play it. They study it and every year they hold a Karuta game competition at school.

🔴 Rules:

Step 1: Group the students. This depends on how many is the total of the students and how many sets of cards you have. For me max is 6 students in a group, min is 2 students (pair). Make them arrange their desks and chairs. Put the desks together to form a big table.

Step 2: Give each group a set of cards and tell them to spread the cards on the table.

Step 3: Tell them to put their hands on their heads and listen to the teacher carefully. Do a short practice.

Step 4: Teacher and students Chant Q and A. Teacher picks a card and students will race to touch the correct card. The first student to touch the correct card will get a point and take the card. Do repeatedly until all cards are called.

Step 5: Count the cards. Praise all the students for participating and for doing a great job 👍.

Step 6: Ask each group to put away the cards and give them back to you. After collecting all the cards, tell them to arrange their chairs and desks and go back to their seats.
