This webinar explores how legal frameworks are used to dispossess people from their land and the complications in this fight across the US and in Occupied Palestine. Eminent domain gives the government the legal right to expropriate land for the "greater good" often with little, if any, input or engagement from Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities that are being displaced and often with private corporate interest.

Eminent domain is a white supremacist practice that continues to occupy and take ownership of stolen land. How does fighting to close loopholes for eminent domain for white landowners affect Indigenous people? Should Indigenous people engage in a fight to help white landowners maintain their ownership over stolen land? This webinar will examine how the language of eminent domain has been and continues to be used to support building border walls and placement of CO2 Pipelines, the impacts on communities, the complicated nature of organizing in this context, and how people are fighting against it.
