The RBI just made e-Rupees available and we have to talk about it. First things first, is this digital money? Well, yes, it is. But then how will it be any different from the digital money you transact using UPI? Right now if you transfer money over UPI, you have to make a request and forward it to your bank. The bank then decides to deduct the balance and transfer it to the beneficiary account.
