ABOUT ATLANTICS
Along the Atlantic coast, a soon-to-be-inaugurated futuristic tower looms over a suburb of Dakar. Ada, 17, is in love with Souleiman, a young construction worker. But she has been promised to another man. One night, Souleiman and his co-workers leave the country by sea, in hope of a better future. A few days after the departure of the boys, a fire devastates Ada’s wedding party, while a mysterious fever starts to spread. Could Souleiman be back for Ada?

ABOUT FATIMA AL QADIRI
Fatima Al Qadiri is a composer born in Senegal and raised in Kuwait. Her work is informed by the experience of war, memory and post-colonial history. Her style, inspired by countless and disparate genres, makes her a singular artist on the electronic scene.
Born in Dakar in 1981 and raised in Kuwait, Fatima Al Qadiri is an electronic music producer with a varied collection of solo releases and collaborations to her name. Her early work includes the 2011 EPs Warn-U (under the alias Ayshay), inspired by Islamic anthems, and Genre-Specific Xperience, which reinterprets five varied sub-genres of dance music. The EP Desert Strike (2012) is named after a video game based on the Gulf War that struck a resonant chord during Al Qadiri’s Kuwaiti childhood. Her full-length debut was Asiatisch, released in 2014, “a simulated road trip through an imagined China.” It was followed by Brute (2016), an album that addresses police brutality and freedom of assembly, especially in the USA, her place of residence for many years. Her 2017 EP Shaneera is a love letter to Arab queer culture. Fatima Al Qadiri is a member of Future Brown, alongside J-Cush and the duo Nguzunguzu, who released their self-titled debut on Warp Records in 2015.
