Silverhead was a raucous glam rock band from England in the 1970's. Lead singer Michael Des Barres was signed to Purple Records in 1972, and formed Silverhead. Silverhead is Michael Des Barres, Nigel Harrison, Rod "The Rook" Davis, Pete Thompson Robbie Blunt and Steve Forrest. They toured world wide appearing with Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Nazareth and Kiss, to name a few. Japan was especially receptive to Silverhead where they experienced beatle-esq fan swarming. Just when it seemed that Silverhead had the big prize of winning over the US within their grasp, they disbanded.

Michael went on with his solo career and having success with other bands such as Detective (signed to Swan Song) , Power Station, and Chequered Past. His song "Obsession " co-written with Holly Knight and recorded by the band Animotion, charted in 27 countries. Michael still records music, his latest release in 2024. As an actor, Michael has appeared, most notably, as Murdock on the MacGyver TV series. Currently Michael is the host of Little Steven's Underground Garage on SiriusXM Radio Channel 21, Michael is heard weekdays 8am-11am ET and 9PM- 12AM ET, and on the west coast 5AM-8AM and 9PM-12AM PT.

Nigel Harrison went on to join Blondie and has had a successful career in A&R.
Robbie Blunt has recorded with many luminaries such as Robert Plant and the Honey Drippers.
Pete Thompson also worked with Plant on Fate of Nations. He has toured and recorded with Robin Trower and old tour mates Ken Hensley and David Byron.
Rod Davies began his professional career playing with David Bowie in 1967, worked with brit pop band The Sorrows, then joined Silverhead in 1971. The "Rook" has a new band, The Rod Davies Band, and is writing and performing on the west coast.
