Fire Service TICs typically split temperature ranges into to manageable spans for image quality. This is often seen in models that offer High & Low Sensitivity modes. This is done so the device can adjust to the overall heat withing the immediate field of view to produce a more discernible image without saturation.

Seek Thermal has developed a temperature mode known as Mixed Gain Mode. This is "Dual Gain" pixel technology where each pixel switches between high and low sensitivity (or high and low gain) independently. Whereas all other models require a certain percentage of the pixels to reach a certain temperature before they switch from high to low sensitivity.
