The liquid fuels sector continues to play a central role in South Africa’s economy by contributing significantly to the GDP, and sustaining employment opportunities. However, this sector, like all other players in the energy space, is facing increasing social and environmental pressures, raising complex questions about its role in a changing energy economy.

The African Energy Leadership Centre (AELC) at WBS and the Upstream Training Trust (UTT) at the Petroleum Agency South Africa (PASA) invite you to a webinar where we will unpack some of these issues and explore possible solutions. Our panellists will also assess the risks and opportunities faced by the sector in the context of the just energy transition, considering the perspectives of science/technology, the environment, socioeconomic, and governance.
