Attabad Lake Hydropower Project | One Most Beautiful Damn Of The World From Hunza | Sun LO

One of the most important hydroelectric projects in the Hunza Valley, located in the mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan, is the dam being built on Attabad Lake. Recently, the Government of Pakistan inaugurated a new dam, i.e. hydropower project, on Attabad Lake. This project was approved by ECNEC in 2020 and work on it had started, under which a 54 MW hydropower project is being constructed on the Hunza River downstream of Attabad Lake, which can generate 54 MW of electricity. The project is proving to be a source of economic and social development in Gilgit-Baltistan. The site of this project is located 20 kilometers from Karimabad on the Hunza River and 130 kilometers upstream from Gilgit. This new dam is so magnificent that with its help, there is no problem in meeting the electricity needs in the valleys of Hunza and Nagar.
