A2 Motorway in Switzerland
The A2 (the Gotthard Motorway) is a motorway in Switzerland. It forms Switzerland's main north–south axis from Basel to Chiasso, meandering with a slight drift toward the east. It lies on the Gotthard axis and crosses the Alps. Opened in 1955 under the name "Road Lucerne-south", A2 is one of the busiest motorways in Switzerland.

Canton of Ticino
Ticino, sometimes Tessin, officially the Republic and Canton of Ticino or less formally the Canton of Ticino, is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of eight districts and its capital city is Bellinzona. It is also traditionally divided into the Sopraceneri and the Sottoceneri, respectively north and south of Monte Ceneri. Red and blue are the colours of its flag.

Bellinzona
It is a municipality, a historic Swiss town, and the capital of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The town is famous for its three castles (Castelgrande, Montebello, Sasso Corbaro) that have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2000. The town lies east of the river Ticino, at the foot of the Alps. It stretches along the river valley, surrounded by the southern ranges of the Lepontine Alps to the east and west, and by the Lugano Prealps to the south.

Arbedo

Castles of Bellinzona (Tre castelli di Bellinzona)
The Castles of Bellinzona are a group of fortifications located around the town of Bellinzona, the capital of the Swiss canton of Ticino. Situated on the Alpine foothills, the group is composed of fortified walls and three castles named Castelgrande, Montebello and Sasso Corbaro. Castelgrande is located on a rocky peak overlooking the valley, with a series of walls that protect the old city and connect to Montebello. Sasso Corbaro, the highest of the three castles, is located on an isolated rocky promontory south-east of the other two. The Castles of Bellinzona with their defensive walls have been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.

Sasso Corbaro Castle (Castello di Sasso Corbaro)
The castle of Sasso Corbaro is located on the flanks of the left bank of the Ticino river, near Bellinzona. With the castles of Montebello and Castelgrande and the walls that partly cross the valley, it has been registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. The "Castello di Sasso Corbaro" is also called the castle of Cima, the castle of Unterwalden from 1506, the castle of Santa Barbara from 1818.

Montebello Castle (Castello di Montebello)
The Castello di Montebello is a spur castle in Bellinzona, the capital of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. As one of the three castles of Bellinzona, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, together with the Castelgrande, the Castello di Sasso Corbaro and the Murata. It is also a cultural asset of national importance. The castle is 313 m above sea level. M. on a rocky ledge east of the old town and is connected to the city wall.
