The edit opens with Jacaerys Velaryon briefing Baela: “The Freys control the crossing at the Twins. Cregan Stark’s Greybeards are marching south. If his men had a direct route into the Riverlands, we wouldn’t have to wait for Daemon to act. I’ll treat with the Freys to secure it.”

Cut to the misted Twins. Jace faces the Freys: “Jason Lannister is marshalling to the west. We need to cross before he reaches Riverrun.”
Lord Frey answers warily: “That requires passage… and if Stark’s army is too slow, the winds are rising. Winter is nigh upon us.”

Then comes the alliance that changes the tides. In Winterfell’s hall, Cregan Stark tells Jace: “Starks do not forget their oaths, my prince. I have thousands of Greybeards—men who’ve seen too many winters. They are well-honed.”
Jace replies, “If your Greybeards can fight, the Queen will have them.”
Cregan nods: “They will fight hard—like northerners.”

The final montage shows Greybeards marching across the same bridge Jace once crossed—banners of the direwolf and the dragon flying side by side—heading toward King’s Landing to fight for Queen Rhaenyra. The realm’s coldest wind now blows for the Blacks.
