Reflecting on Louis XV Suite | Biltmore Preservation Stories

Let’s take a closer look at one of Biltmore Estate's largest preservation projects to date: restoring the Louis XV Suite—the grandest guest rooms in Biltmore House—with Biltmore’s Chief Curator, Darren Popoure.

The Louis XV Suite is a retreat consisting of four guest rooms: the Damask Room, the Claude Room, the Tyrolean Chimney Room, and the Louis XV Room. It is located on the second floor of Biltmore House and is included as part of the Biltmore House tour route during the cooler months of the year.

Biltmore Estate is located in Asheville, North Carolina, and was completed in 1895. This National Historic Landmark remains privately owned and continues to be maintained by George Vanderbilt's descendants. The estate features America's Largest Home designed by Richard Morris Hunt, 8,000 acres of renowned gardens and grounds designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted, distinct overnight accommodations including a four-star Inn and private cottages, an award-winning winery, numerous restaurants, event and meeting venues, working farms, and more.
