Family Tree Trip 2024 Part I ,'Holy Trinity & Graveyard, Wensley in the Yorkshire Dales 'by Sheila

A Great visit and especially finding the grave of the x5 Great grandparents John Buckton and his wife Jane ,nee Robinson. Fortunately this memory card was not corrupt unlike another 64GB card that had some brilliant clear footage but could only be rescued as explained in another video to follow...What a picturesque village in the Yorkshire Dales and the good Summer weather added to its colour. Quaint cottages around the village pump of the village green full of beautiful garden flowers and the church of Holy Trinity dominating the skyline---a grand church indeed with a rich history but like many around the country now redundant--few people attend church here and in other villages but the churches built so big and dominant and once of great significance.Now a large artefact of the past and history.The graveyard in full Summer bloom and oozing yellow from the tall plants widespread across all the graves.--quite a battle to walk among but well worth it....I found John Buckton and his wife jane, nee Robinson--a well preserved grave which I first saw on someone's family tree page and decided to visit myself---quite a journey from Somerset and my first time here in the Yorkshire Dales so well worth the trip......
