Les McCann - Sometimes I Cry (Korg SV-1, Behringer Model D)

Having fun with this contemplative jazz from the Layers album, recorded in November 1972. One of the early jazz albums focused on a more electronic sound, according to McCann. The concept was to spontaneously record on keyboards and synthesizers all the ideas that came to his head while drums, percussion, and bass accompanied him. It was the first album recorded using 32 tracks, and McCann could only do one, at most two takes for each keyboard layer. I followed his idea and committed to recording each sound in a single take, aiming to leave spaces for the reverb to beautifully resonate in this meditative jazz-funk.
