Seasonal affective Disorder

It comes so suddenly with my flu
Less sunlight, Shorter days, endless nights

The chemical change in my brain
Emotions begin to take on a mind of their own
Depressed, anxious, irritated, hopeless
They took over my life
On the edge of this seasonal change


Gloomy, that is how I feel
Where is the glimmer
Where is the warmth, the sunshine, the heat, the hug
It's what I long for most in this season

The breeze of the heater, the gurgle of the kettle
The lighted candles, the warm bath water
and the leftover change from last year found in my down coat
I found them.
