and Welcome to a Gudhi Padwa Special Basundi Episode of ‪@RedSoilStories‬
Basundi is a traditionally made sweet ( Dessert ) recipe during festivals in Maharashtra. Basundi is also very commonly prepared on the Ocassion of Gudhi Padwa.
I had gone to get some extra milk from our milkman. I returned home and gave the milk to Pooja and asked what she wanted to prepare for Gudhi Padwa. Basundi it is..!
After Puranpoli, the next sweet dish that ranks is Basundi. It is usually made with the menu of Shrikhand Puri, along with sparkling Kurma Bhaji, Papad Kurdai Bhaji. A complete Maharashtrian veg meal loved by all.Basundi recipe is done with easily available household ingredients. Special care needs to be taken while doing Basundi in the traditional way.
First Pooja started Preparing "Sakhrechya Gathi" ( Sugar Candy Garland ) for the Gudhi Padwa Puja. This garland is tied with 'Gudhi". Gudhi Padwa is an auspicious event in Maharashtra and also a beginning of Marathi New year. Meanwhile I started preparing for Gudhi Padwa Puja and other rituals.
Pooja prepared four flavors of Basundi i.e. Rose Flavor Basundi, Mango Flavor Basundi, Kesar Pista Basundi and Plain Basundi.
Once the preparation is done all worshiped the Gudhi and later we had our lunch together.
