OH3SHF 10 GHz beacon in Rain Scatter with unmodified LNB

Описание к видео OH3SHF 10 GHz beacon in Rain Scatter with unmodified LNB

Receiving the OH3SHF beacon in rain scatter with my old faithful Yaesu FRG-9600 and an unmodified PLL LNB . Depending on temperature, the unmodified LNB reference can be a whopping 300 kHz off nominal. Marginally stable but exceedingly inaccurate ;-) But GREAT fun, portable, mobile, row boat etc.

Huge thanks to the OH3TR team for keeping this 3cm band beacon (and others) on air, I have enjoyed the service for over 20 years :)

FRG-9600 detail: I have punched through the second antenna connector hole on the rear panel (I think this was originally for the HF option) and installed an N(f) connector with 12Vdc bias for LNB's, LNA's etc. Fused of course. For portable experiments I just use a 12V/7Ah lead gel battery.
