For April Fools in 2013, Mojang announced they were making a sequel to Minecraft, called Minecraft 2. But unlike most of the April Fools versions, this apparent sequel to Minecraft isn't available on the launcher, and was only sent to a handful of YouTubers back when it was released. Fortunately, the files for the version were released, so we can check it out today :D

If you're curious, Mojang's announcement of the 'sequel' is also on the web archive. It's filled with lots of fake updates, like re-adding the farlands. Most of that stuff isn't actually added haha but it's still pretty funny to read :)
