Top Historical places to visit in Bidar | Bidar Fort, Bahmani tombs, Baridi Tombs, Mahmud Gawan Madrasa, Chaukhandi

This is the second vlog of our 10 days Karnataka road trip. We started our second day from Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Sahib to explore the famous historical places of Bidar - City of whispering monuments.
First, we headed to tombs of Bahmani Sultans. These tombs were built during 15th & 16th centuries and depict distinct Indo-Islamic style of architecture.
Thereafter, we went to explore an another nearby tomb that was quite different in structure. This two storey tomb, related to Hazrat Khalil Ullah, who was a spiritual advisor to Sultan Ahmed Shah, was octagonal in shape and locally known as Chaukhandi. It is famous for its beautiful architecture, which features calligraphy and stone work above the arched doorways with carved granite pillars and adorned walls.
Then we headed to our next destination that was Bidar Fort. This fort was built (1426-1432) by Sultan Ahmed Shah Wali, when he shifted his capital from Gulbarga to Bidar. This fort has a long history extending to even before Tughlaqs. From Bahmani sultans, this fort was acquired by Barid Shahs, who emerged after disintegration of Bahmani Sultans. Barid Shahs lost this fort to Aurangzeb in 1619. After taking a tour of the fort, we visited Madrasa of Mahmud Gawan that was built in 1460s and is an example of the regional style of Indo-Islamic architecture under the Bahmani Sultanate. Thereafter, we had our lunch at Hotel Sitara.
Before heading to Vijaypura, we stopped at tombs of Barid Shahi Sultans, that also shown an exemplary architectural style. Then we started our 250 KMs journey to Vijaypura at around 3:30 PM.
