The penallists discussed the drivers of the transition towards a sustainable industry and the potentials that arise from the integration of biobased raw materials and processes as well as from digitalisation in industry.

Agnes Borg is Industrial Biotech Director at EuropaBio - The European Association for Bioindustries. EuropaBio is Europe's largest and most influential biotech industry group and represents corporate and associate members across sectors, plus national and regional biotechnology associations which, in turn, represent over 1800 biotech SMEs.

Jon Fox manages at Covestro the development of their digital material tracing capabilities. John sees digital material tracing as a foundational, enabling technology not only for Covestro, but for industry as a whole.

Mesbah Sabur is the Co-founder of Circularise, a startup developing an open-source protocol and decentralized network to bring transparency to global supply chains and move towards a circular economy.

Dr Frank Kensy founded b.fab in 2018 and since then developed the company as managing director/CEO. b.fab combines electrochemistry with biotechnology. The technology is able to produce various value-added chemicals, single cell protein, amino acids and biopolymers.
