This is the evolution of the RAM 1500, from a simple and functional pick-up to an electric and futuristic pick-up. But how did the Dodge RAM become one of the most popular and performing pickup trucks in the world? In this video you will discover the evolution of all generations and models of RAM 1500, starting from the history of Dodge RAM, to the aspects related to the evolution of the exterior and interior design, as well as their engines.

The first generation RAM 1500 was launched in 1981 and was originally known as the Dodge Ram, being a direct evolution of the Dodge D-Series. The D-Series models were very popular in the 1960s, and thus the Ram was developed with a more robust design and more powerful engine options. The Dodge RAM was available in three body styles: standard, extended and crew cab and boasted powerful engines from a 3.7-liter V6 to a powerful 5.9-liter HEMI V8.

The evolution of the RAM 1500 brings us to the present where the newest RAM 1500 model from 2025 comes for the premiere with a fully electric version, futuristic design and an arsenal of top functions, such as the Uconnect 5 system with an extended 14.5 touch screen inches, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a unique 10.25-inch screen for the passenger. Also, the 2025 Ram's new STLA platform introduces an innovative specialized chassis frame, complemented by a dual-motor system that delivers up to 654 horsepower distributed across both axles.

So from the rugged work vehicles of the 80s to the luxurious and technologically advanced models of today, the RAM 1500 has come a long and impressive way. Which RAM 1500 generation do you think was the most revolutionary and who are its biggest competitors?
