Drummer Super Speed Single Stroke Drum Roll Without Hand Arm Movement

Описание к видео Drummer Super Speed Single Stroke Drum Roll Without Hand Arm Movement

This is my technique I use when I want to do a relaxed super speed single stroke roll. As you can see, really no movement of my left-right hand or arm and the single stoke roll is loud and strong. It`s just a rebound off the drumhead to my left hand finger just slightly pushing down on the stick. Right hand I`m just pushing up on the stick with my finger and letting it fall for the rebound. I`m able to control the rebound of both sticks with my fingers, so no movement needed of my hand or arm using this technique I made up. This is a live performance of my Ken Loomer Big Band in concert. During my drum solo for this concert, I use this technique of the fast single stroke roll going into a press roll. I like to use dynamic`s so I did my press roll at a very low volume before building it up. I`m big into snare technique as done by the old school master drummers like Buddy Rich, Louie Bellson and Joe Morello. I`m playing on my classic 1970 Slingerland drum set which sound so great with that big open tone.
