Summer 2021 video, promoting the wonderful possibility of community land ownership here in Morvern. This exciting venture has been many years of work undertaken by the Morvern Games and Gala Week committee, all of which are volunteers passionate about securing a future for their community.

UPDATE - Having conducted a household survey over the summer of 2021, the Morvern Games & Gala Week committee were delighted to say we had received a resounding “YES” from the community for a buyout of out historic sports ground and surrounding land. The questionnaire revealed 88% of respondees in favour (yes or possibly) of community acquisition of Knock Park, and 81% in favour of acquiring more adjacent land if practicable for income generation and other amenities.

After negotiations with Ardtornish Estate, an agreement was made and the Morvern Games and Gala Week committee sent off their application to the Scottish Land Fund to purchase Knock Park and some of the surrounding area. Result of their buy out will be announced March 2022.
