It does not seem that too many people are fond of the great Mitch McConnell – Trumps destroyer in chief. According to The New Yorker people who once admired McConnell have turned on him.

There’s David Jones, the late co-founder of the health-care giant Humana. He backed all of McConnell’s Senate campaigns, since 1984. Jones died last year and before he did, the article says Jones and his and his two sons, sent a letter to McConnell asking him to stop being a “ bystander” and to use his “constitutional authority to protect the nation from President Trump.

Louisville lawyer John David Dyche published an admiring biography of McConnell 2009. In March Dyche posted a Twitter thread saying McConnell “of course realizes that Trump is a hideous human being & utterly unfit to be president,” and that, in standing by Trump anyway, he has shown that he has “no ideology except his own political power.” And he’s giving money to the Amy McGrath who is running against McConnell.



But the big one would be McConnell’s own daughters. Apparently the youngest, Porter, is a progressive activist and campaign director for Take On Wall Street. That’s a group of labor unions and nonprofit groups which advocates against the “predatory economic power” of “banks and billionaires.” One of the groups’s targets is chairman and C.E.O. of the Blackstone Group Stephen Schwarzman who since 2016, donated nearly thirty million dollars to campaigns and super pacs aligned with McConnell.



Meanwhile McConnell’s middle daughter, Claire’s husband has criticized Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. And McConnell’s oldest daughter, Eleanor, is a registered Democrat. And their mom Sherrill Redmon, and McConnell divorced in 1980. She collaborated with Gloria Steinem on the Voices of Feminism Oral History Project. (Redmon is evidently working on a tell-all memoir.

He just reminds me of a sad little man who’s holding on to his racist views for dear life because that is literally all he has. And that is our slay word PLEONASM for redundant because you don’t need all those words to describe Mitch McConnell – you need just one…pathetic.
