Taiwan Says Autocracy Is "Evil" After China Threatens Death Penalty | Firstpost America

China has threatened to impose death penalty in extreme cases of "diehard" Taiwan independence separatism. China considers Taiwan as its territory and has openly expressed its aversion to the newly elected Taiwanese president Lai Ching-te. The new guidelines state that China's courts, prosecutors and state security bodies should "severely punish Taiwan independence diehards for splitting the country and inciting secession crimes." Assuring unwavering support To his citizens, Lai said that democracy is not a crime and autocracy is the real "evil." The government also urged people "not to be threatened and intimidated" by China.
