Combattler V '76, Super Robot Blueprint

Airing in 1976, Combattler V was the second super robot show produced by Sunrise after Yuusha Raideen. It would establish several genre conventions, most visibly by bringing in the five man team conceit from Sentai shows and inventing the now typical five vehicle combination.

But more than that, it is a wildly melodramatic show, with comic drunkards, violent child death, a bisexual robot, lighthearted gags, and explicit depictions of slavery all competing for the stage. The show is also Christian.
