How to Manual Swap FRS/BRZ/86 (ZN6)

A visual on how I manual swapped my '17 86.

I wanted to make a video to share my experience of the swap from following DarthFRS's manual swap guide on the FT86Club forum. There were some aspects of the swap that were still questionable from the guide that I was able to figure out by going through the swap myself. I hope my video helped out those that are thinking of or in the process of doing this swap!

A note about the dash and chassis harness: get both from the same year, same model, same trim. This way all the features are the same and to name a few: push to start, seat warmers, heated mirror, auto climate control, fog light switch, gauge cluster ('17+), back up camera location ('18+). Also try to get the ECU and ABS from the same car. Note for '17+, the alternator plug is different. I'm only saying same year to be 100% sure it works but other years may work. My harnesses are from a '17 Subaru BRZ Limited because it is very hard to find a 860 Special Edition one for sale. The only thing that didn't match was the plugs for my factory Toyota head unit.

Update (2/19/22): I missed an extra bolt that holds the clutch/brake pedal assembly to the dash frame compared to the automatic assembly. You will need 1 extra bolt (010008160). So far still no issues with the swap. I was able to get my cam plate to seal better using Permatex Ultra Black and popsicle sticks to create an initial gap before tightening down completely once it stiffens.

Update (4/27/22): For all? or some Canadian cars, I was informed there's one extra wire that comes out of the dash harness and gets attached way back behind the the center of the dash. I don't think it's accessible to remove without cutting. Just keep this in mind for my fellow Canadians.
